Folk song, the music of the people, has always been hugely important and influential. Come away this week knowing the many ways a song can be structured and apply to your own songs.
Week 5 - Hey Jude
Look back at Beatlemania and how music has a mysticism beyond itself. Work on the ultimate power ending for your song, be it audience singalong or epic instrumental.
Week 6 - Fight The Power
Nothing escapes politics and this week we look at the strength and impact of important messages in lyric writing.
Week 7 - I Feel Love
Get your dance on with beats and synthetic sounds. Open up your possibilities in the same way new possibilities were opened at the time the technology was invented..
Week 8 - Part Of Your World
Get lost in the wonderful world of Disney and storytelling in songwriting. Learn the difference between micro and macro process in telling your story.
Week 9 - Goldfinger
Just why exactly are Bond songs so instantly recognisable? As well as exploring the signature of Bond songs, we look at other themes in music and you get ever closer to forging your own musical signature.
Week 10 - Bohemian Rhapsody
Think you know everything by now? Think again! All of the theory, tips and tricks you have learnt over the weeks get ripped up as we learn that in music, there are no rules. And your musical potential from now on is limitless.
